The Foundation for Integrated Development Action (FIDA) was established in 2004 and works primarily in Dera Ismail Khan and South Waziristan in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan with a long-term aim of social change in the region.
Through its 'Access the Justice Initiative', the organisation is aiming to improve access to justice for the poorest people of Dera Ismail Khan. The focus of the project is to use the alternative dispute resolution and mediation as a bridge between the traditional and state legal system.
FIDA is currently working with the district administration and other partners to address the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank, who have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict and military operations in Waziristan.
