Training of trainers workshops in peacebuilding and democracy for young people in Sudan.
Description
Youth for Peace was a programme to train young people in democracy, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, leadership skills and gender and human rights. Training of trainers (ToT) workshops were held around the country for participants drawn from youth organisations and universities.Aims / Objectives
To enable young people to play an active role in building peace and supporting democracy.

Achievements / Learning Points
As a result of the training, the trainers have established further networks and continue to train new participants.
In the course of the training, the two parties to the conflict (ie the SPLM/A and the Government) united in participation at the workshops.

Training took place as follows:
- Khartoum displaced people’s camps (Jabarona, Bantiu) (60 trainers)
- Juba University (20 trainers)
- Khartoum University (Khartoum Union Student) (40 trainers)
- Omdurman Ahlia University (Mohamed Omer Bashier Centre) (30 trainers)
- Nuba Mountains (kadogli and El- Deleng) (80 trainers)
- Blue Nile ( Eredieba and Shiekh talha Village) (80 trainers)
- White Nile ( Denegela Wd Dahi Village) (25 trainers)
- River Nile state ( Goaz Bura) (35 trainers)
- Northern State (Deuim Wd Hag) (23 trainers)
- Kassala State (50 trainers).
