Health and Skills for Africa (HASFA)

This organization dedicates its efforts to educating young people about HIV and their health, working with many dangerous and violent gangs, enabling them to see there is a chance to leave conflict behind.

Overview

Health and Skills for Africa (HASFA) is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) established to create awareness on certain health related problems (e.g HIV/AIDS) in society and skills training for youths. Their main targets are violent and dangerous gang members. From experience, the organization have observed that when working with such groups, identifying/involving and getting their leaders commitment from the planning stage of a proposed programme, is vital to it’s overall success.

The organization aims to empower young people who have had difficult up bringings to become responsible citizens of society, through re-orientation and economic empowerment targeted workshops, trainings and campaigns, Paralleling these, with helping them identify the link between health and wealth.
