Al Manar was established in 1992. The organisation’s work is carried out through four integrated policies: Peacebuilding and Democracy; Saving lives and building a healthy future; Capacity building; and Collaborative work for change.
Within each of these policies, the organisation provides training, capacity-building, information and resources to a variety of groups and individuals for a number of purposes. In its efforts to promote peacebuilding and democracy, Al Manar runs training activities in conflict prevention and resolution, human rights, women and children’s rights, and legal awareness. The organisation provides legal representation in selected cases which it believes will help advance human rights, peace and democracy.
