ACICAM is a private and non-governmental entity that groups enterprises and industries related with the leather market in Colombia; it is connected at all levels from the raw hide stage to the national and international marketing of leather goods. It is committed to ‘peace business’ and the corporate social responsibility of businesses, advocating a formal inclusion in the labour market of people affected by the armed conflict. In this ACICAM is a pioneer in developing strategies to involve demobilised people, and reinsertados from the illegal armed groups into their labour chain and raising awareness of the importance of their re-introduction into society.
