Nonviolent News started in 1987 and has been produced monthly (usually 10 a year) since 1994. It is produced in paper, and extended email and web editions.

Aims / Objectives

The aim of the project is to ensure that people in Ireland and Northern Ireland have easy access to whatever is going on in the field of politics and nonviolence throughout the world, and with a special focus on Ireland and Northern Ireland. Nonviolent News offers a space for local NGOs to give updates on their own projects and advertise for jobs.

What Does It Involve?

Calls for papers and news are advertised for the coming issue on an ongoing basis.

Achievements / Learning Points

Nonviolent News is an important medium on the island of Ireland for information regarding peace, nonviolence, and campaigning issues and includes some coverage of human rights and green issues.

Networking is a difficult task; finding appropriate ways for people to work together is a vital part of making progress.
