People's Agenda for Peace

The initiative aims to raise awareness of the Nepalese conflict by facilitating communication between various organisations and by putting pressure on conflicting parties through the use of peace agendas.

Description

The programme has been developed to make people aware of agendas for peace and to pressurise the conflicting parties to include the people's agendas in negotiations.

How it is articulated

The organisation has interacted and consulted with various people on the theme of people's agendas for negotiation, and handed over the findings of the interactions and consultations to the government through INSEC.

Achievements / Learning Points

The organisation has consulted and interacted with the Dalit groups, women's organisations, agricultural labour organisations, children's clubs, business organisations, trade unions etc. and prepared the peace agendas.

The organisation has learnt that internal armed conflict should be resolved through dialogue and that peace agendas for negotiation should represent all Nepalese people.
