The organisation has been implementing the "Peacebuilding and Conflict Management" programme to teach non-violent means of conflict transformation and has also organised peace rallies to create pressure for a ceasefire.
The organisation has aims to work on conflict transformation and peacebuilding, raise awareness for non-violent means of conflict transformation and develop human resources for working in the post-conflict peacebuilding process if necessary.
HUSADEC provides training on conflict transformation and peacebuilding for people working in the field of peace and conflict and mobilises them to work more effectively and efficiently in their respective areas. The organisation has published bulletins on peace and has been facilitating and mediating the local disputes for resolution.
The organisation has been mediating and resolving local disputes and has been working to raise awareness for peace by organising peace rallies, workshops and training on conflict transformation and peacebuilding. HUSADEC has also negotiated the release of people who were abducted by the Maoists. The organisation's view is that the ongoing armed conflict should be resolved by peaceful means and that respect for human rights is a precondition for this resolution. It has learnt from previous activities that working through joint efforts is the most effective and that networking is necessary for working collectively.
