Doboj Rotor works in the Zenica-Doboj region stimulating economic growth by developing tourism-building projects that unite people across ethnic and national lines. Founded on the idea that if people are working together in a multi-ethnic and peaceful environment to achieve better economic conditions, violent conflict, and the loss of economic stability it brings, is not an option, Doboj Rotor aims to create sustainable economic development in the region. They provide returned refugees and unemployed people with stable livelihoods, and promote tourism through the protection and preservation of the environment and local heritage sites.

Doboj Rotor has been one of the most active members of EkomrežaBiH – the first Bosnian NGO network, and has participated in many cross-organisation campaigns for the protection and promotion of human rights and the environment.

Doboj Castle

The city of Doboj survived the trauma and devastation of the Bosnian War, yet even today the city is divided along ethnic lines and borders. But, while there may be many examples of national and ethnic conflict, one thing that unites people of all backgrounds in the city and surrounding regions is Doboj Castle. Suffering from decades of neglect, and badly damaged during the Bosnian War, Doboj Rotor set about its restoration. By reconstructing this cultural and historic monument, Doboj Rotor have not simply provided a significant tourist attraction, they have taken a step towards reducing the likelihood of future conflict by initiating a project that involved local people of all backgrounds on a monument for all Bosnians in the region, reminding people that despite their differences they still have a shared heritage worth saving.
