Media for Peace and Religious Tolerance (MPRTO) promote peace, human rights, good governance and religious tolerance in Uganda. They are also involved in training mid-level newsroom managers from both the electronic and print media in peace journalism, and conflict resolution and war reporting.

Vision

To reach out to communities where conflicts have caused misery and breakdown of families, social intuitions and other structures.

Mission

MPRTO is dedicated to promoting tolerance among religions and faiths, create a culture of dialogue and sensitise journalists on how to promote tolerance in Uganda.

Activities

MPRTO conducts programmes on peace and human rights on voice of Kigezi Radio, Weekly Message and Great Africa Radio. They have also made it a yearly event to celebrate International Day for Tolerance since 2004 aiming at generating public awareness and emphasizing the dangers of intolerance. 16 November is the annual International Day for Tolerance.
