Social Agenda Working Group – South Watch.
The Social Agenda Working Group is based within the Social Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University. The Working Group was founded in 2004 with the goal of working with academics, government and civil society to build knowledge for peacebuilding. The Working Group creates space for policy dialogue and also to analyse grassroots perspectives on social issues, with the purpose of strengthening the Thai peace process. The Working Group contains a specific ‘Women for Peace Network’.
The Working Group also runs the Thai-language ‘South Watch’ website, which contains information on social and political developments in the three southern provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani, including grassroots initiatives.
