The Organization of Friends of Peace & Development was established in 2003 to strengthen and disseminate a culture of peace and coexistence, besides it raises awareness in healthcare and assists people with disabilities. It operates in camps in Kassala, Damazin, Fashir and Kadugli. Peacebuilding is done by involving the community and using cultural heritage and traditional methods. The Organization of Friends of Peace & Development held workshops on building peace in Islam and seminars on conflict resolution.

The Organisation of Friends of Peace & Development cooperates with Mubadiroon, UNICEF, United Nations, Mine Action Office, UNDP, UNFPA , Association for Aid & Relief Japan and Madar.
