Council of Non-Governmental Organisations - Jaffna.

The Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (Council of NGOs) – Jaffna was established in 1990 to make people aware of social issues such as war, hunger, human rights violations and injustices. Other than that, lobbing is one of the main focus areas of the organisation.

Working with IDPs is one of the interesting areas and they work as a stakeholder of other NGOs who work in the Jaffna peninsula. Now the Council of NGOs has become a voice for Jaffna people. By uniting around 20 organisations in Jaffna, they are able to be an effective lobby for peacebuilding.
