Alliance for Peace (AfP).

Alliance for Peace (AfP) is working to build a peaceful and democratic Nepal. It was established in the midst of the recent conflict by a group of young people, and today involves professionals, aspiring student political leaders and other activists. AfP believes that young people’s openness to new ideas offers an opportunity to plant the seeds for real change in Nepal. They aim to create a body of politically aware and involved young people who will be committed to contributing to the country’s future.

AfP has established Youth Peace Centres (YPCs) across Nepal to allow young people to swap knowledge and information about peacebuilding, and to enter into dialogue with those from whom they are ideologically, politically and socially separated. This network of YPCs also serves as an early warning system, highlighting areas of potential conflict and stepping in before violence emerges.

AfP Nepal plans to assist in developing and strengthening student and youth wings of the political parties to perform as effective actors of democratization and good governance, trusted by voters, representatives and responsible to public needs and concerns, contribute to the public debate, and play an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability. Through the empowerment of the youths, they can play an active role in the democracy of Nepal.

AfP Nepal believes that youths are vital assets for leading the society in the positive direction.
