The Jammu & Kashmir Right To Information Movement is a people’s movement working on the implementation of the right to information in the state. The movement consists of people belonging to all walks of society – doctors, lawyers, teachers and students, labourers and agriculturists, etc. For the last five years the movement has has been working with people in the remotest parts of Jammu & Kashmir. By educating local people in their rights to access information from the government, the movement is empowering communities to use the right to information as a tool for peacebuilding in their localities.
