Based in the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the International Resource Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IRC) project aims to create an interactive learning zone to allow students, researchers, academia, media, community members and policy makers to develop an awareness and interest in international issues, particularly those related to peace and conflict resolution. The project is jointly supported by the British Council and the British High Commission in Pakistan.

The centre contains information on international issues including conflict management, International Relations and peace building, as well as English Language teaching for the faculty, students and researchers of University. Apart from the academic community for study and research, the IRC is also available to civil society (NGOs, community-based organisations and activists), print and broadcast media.

The IRC is an attractive, lively place which encourages not only reading but debate and discussion on issues of peacebuilding. It is providing access to information and knowledge about specific themes in an interactive environment using multimedia. It contains books, journals, audio and video material along with access to online resources. With its aim of facilitating the understanding of peacebuilding issues, IRC is the first project of its kind in Pakistan.
