Programa de Desarrollo para la Paz (PRODEPAZ).
Programa de Desarrollo para la Paz (PRODEPAZ) was founded in 1999 and is based in the department of East Antioquia. Its work is based on the idea of human development and community empowerment as means to defeat obstacles impeding peace.
Its peace and development programme helps communities affected by violence and poverty, in both rural and urban areas of the region, by supporting income generation, business initiatives, assisting the return of displaced people, capacity building and strengthening of local accountability and democracy.
PRODEPAZ also coordinates the Second Lab of Peace for East Antioquia, as a continuation of the Peace Labs project funded by the European Union. This project aims for the creation of a culture of peace, democracy and social-economic development.
La Posada Magazine and Orlando Lopez Awards.
PRODEPAZ released this magazine in order to inform people about the progress and development of the Second Peace Lab, raise awareness and promote local participation and engagement in peacebuilding activities.
It also promoted the Orlando Lopez Awards to praise the work of people involved in the region’s communication sector.
