A programme of workshops, interactions and legal services provided for Nepal's conflict victims.
Description
The organisation's primary activity is the running of workshops and interaction programmes on peace and conflict issues, held in cooperation with partner organisations in Kathmandu. It also provides legal services free of charge, particularly to women conflict victims, and counselling. It believes that victims deserve rehabilitation as part of the justice they should be given during the peace process.
Aims / Objectives
Srijansil Samaj Nepal aims to raise people's awareness of peace, and to promote and protect human rights and women’s rights as essential components for lasting peace. The organisation is committed to the values of accountability and transparency, and aims to develop a rights-based programme in the future.

Achievements / Learning Points
Srijansil Samaj Nepal has held peace rallies to make people positive about the peace process, and has organised frequent workshops and interactions on the issues of human rights and peace in collaboration with Kathmandu-based NGOs. The organisation has also been providing legal services free of charge to people in need. Increasing numbers of civilians have become victims of the conflict, including a rising proportion of women and children. Srijansil Samaj Nepal believes that the rehabilitation of these groups should be given a high priority.
The organisation has developed the view that the internal armed conflict in Nepal should be resolved by peaceful means and the equal and participatory involvement of women is an essential part of the peace process.
